Thanks. Eventually I'll post some pictures in the mod thread. I got the idea of the VW cylinder from a guy I work with who built a turbo Karmann Ghia and has a mid 60s beetle as well. The cylinder is roughly the same volume (17mm, 0.66" bore) as the BTV but lacks that whole nasty compensation valve that fails at random. (Also the VW cylinder is only $20) The car sat for 12 years before I bought it so brakes were the second thing to be repaired after I got it to run. Most of my research on that subject lead me to horror stories from Craig and the simple fact that the modern parts cost less than half of rebuilding the BTV. I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to register between learning how few Sportsters were made and cabin fever from this winter is getting to me. I want to get my toys out.
