You could have it re-cored if the reason for the non repairable condition is due to a bad core, and the tanks and cradle are in good shape. If you decide to re-core, a number of options as to the replacement core are available which make the radiator more efficient. An old radiator might have the same problems as your current one.

Hello smashburn,
excuse me for being curious, but why is that radiator unrepairable? What is the reason for that? If the guy at the repairshop says unrepairable it usually means something like "I dunno", " I don't wanna do it". "not enough money in it". So far I always opted for recoring and refurbishing and never had problems with cooling on my old cars. Radiator No. 5 is on its way ... Recored Regards, Clemens

Hey thanks everyone for the information. The radiator repair guy told me that he fixed two holes and found two more but every time he tried to patch if it got bigger and worse he said. I though maybe he just didn't want to take the time to mess with it and even considered a second opinion. I mean it really doesn't look that bad. Thanks again everyone

Yes, I would try a different shop. I had one re cored and it looked good as new.
It is always best to be in a local car club and most of the people there can point you to a good repair shop. Wes
