Hello Everyone ,I'm starting to work on the 55 since I bought it back.Found a 56 Pat with a 55 nose on it for parts and some reverse engineering as the 55 is in pieces. Was wondering if I should put the 56 on the registry as it's just a parts car. Here are some pics of the 55.Will post up dates soon!

Is that an extra pedal on the floor for this car, or just something on the floor?

Looks like it will be a nice car.

I'd almost think that extra pedal is an accelerator. A friend used to do handicapped conversions. I saw lots of cars he would do with left foot acc pedals added for amputees or others with diminished right leg functions. The original pedal was usually kept in place for the convenience of other drivers.

I also remember back in the day there was a kind of accelerator kit an owner could attach for long trips where he might want to switch off to rest his foot. Believe it was just a pedal with a rod that laid across the carpet and had some kind of clamp that attached to the regular acc pedal. Not sure how well it actually worked but selling point was it could be installed or removed easily.

Standard equipment on all US-made cars from at least the early twenties though in 1936 and back the switch was on the steering column on senior cars. New floor switches are still available from NAPA.
