I remember original owner cars - a 52 Clipper (it was owned by a black guy who maintained it in mint condition. He would bring it in for minor service.) and a 53 Cavalier - both were black and it was original paint.

Here are photos I mentioned showing that car with the kind of maroon shade in progress. Has the Sunset Red top and dash and Twilight Taupe bottom.

I find the colors most attractive.

Find your model and body style and you'll find the weights in various configurations here for the 1953 models, I doubt the 1952 models differered more than +/- 50 lbs. Note the chart at the bottom for weights to be added for things like OD, power steering, power brakes, radio, etc.

This siteclassiccardatabase.com/specs.php?series=4948&year=1952&model=28077 says 3875 lbs so it probably is regular weight and nothing extra for shipping or without the Ultra.

Our original 1952 Mayfair (250 hardtop) was Sunset Red Met. and Twilight Taupe Met. Dash was deep red and red leather/gray nylon interior. A real chick magnet
$3200.00.

Yes it is, but probably not any more than a medium sized modern car. They are heavier than one would think.

Hi Carlmadsen

The 4,200 lbs range is consistent with the 300/Cavalier's main competitors Buick Roadmaster and Chrysler New Yorker. This was the era when people believed "A heavy car holds the road better"

That is an attractive color combination, would love to see a Patrician finished in it.

.....epigram time.....
Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
