needy36,

That is an interesting idea. Thank you for your thoughts on this hair-raising project. Welcome to the forum.

David,

An auto-generated invitation to post ownership info would be a great idea. This would certainly promote the registry and serve as an instant welcome, while saving Mal quite a bit of time monitoring for new members and posting the registry request.

Kev, Mal, what do you guys think.

Jim

Jim,

Kev and I were in the Chatroom when David told us of the idea and Kev's agreed to take up and implement a very good suggestion. I'll still welcome new members as I think a friendly greeting never goes astray.

Well, no luck on what glue to specifically use. Steele rubber is intentionally vague in their instructions stating (in paraphrase) "find the glue that works best for you..." kind of deal. I can totally understand, they are trying not to get hung out to dry if a customer has poor results.

I will post on AACA in hopes of someone having first hand knowledge of best glue for the job.

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts on this,
Jim

If you'd like I'll call Stone Barn and Automotive Restorations and see what they use.

O_D,

If not to much trouble, that would be fine. This is one situation where advice from someone who has had good results with a particular adhesive would be very reassuring.

Thanks much,
Jim
