What a coincidence! Or is it deja vu all over again?
No sooner does Gerd bring to our attention Mark L Moody, his Shanghai dealership and other aspects of his life then the June 2016 issue of The Cormorant News Bulletin comes into my hands today. But why would that be a coincidence? Because the back cover has a photo on it titled "Mystery Photo #2. Give us the location of the photo, the year and model of the tow truck and your guess on the purpose of the photo. Send your reply to the CNB Editor; selected replies will be run in a future issue." The really coincidental part is that the photo, of the Packard Tow Truck together with a pedal(or miniature?) car beside it, is in the Mark L Moody service centre as detailed here by Gerd recently. I think it's possible that it's actually Mark L in leather flying helmet and goggles in the pedal car, after all he's a great self promoter. The picture in question, which I'm not reproducing because of possible copyright issues, only caught my attention when I saw signwritten on the upper front of the cab "PACKARD & FIAT SERVICE", then realised where it was taken and the fact it also had Chinese characters on the door. All PAC members, who are also members here, will have a head start in sending replies to the CNB Editor! There's also another coincidence, well from my perspective there is! The August 2016 issue of "The Packardian", publication of the Packard Automobile Club of Australia, has an article about a '25 326 Tow Truck which I had a hand in bringing to print. See photo below.

Meanwhile, on eBay, you too can have a photo of the dealer showroom. But Gerd has the same photo in Post #3!

Mal, thanks a lot for the various external links. I thought the narrative revolves around a dealership, 1,000 miles away and 100 years ago but your references to the present age give the story an appearance of being alive.

Gerd,
If I think there's a link, however tenuous it may seem, I'll utilise it! Additionally, contacting the CNB Editor has resulted in permission to use the previously mentioned photo being given, see below. Sorry about the quality and click on photo to enlarge.

Everything is spic and span and waits for the grand opening. The boss is hoarse and the cleaning crew at the end of their tether. That's one of those perfect moments, Murphy is waiting for to crash the graphics adapter of the computer.

During his meteoric rise Mark Moody changed into a big wheel. Looks that way, doesn't it?
