Will there need to be something done to the mains and webbing for the increase in displacement and HP? I was under the impression from past discussions the Packard lower end was considered somewhat weak as compared to other engines.

[b]Kids, don't try this at home! It's taken many years and many dollars, but it's getting closer.
First up is finding a forged crankshaft. As most of you know, these were most likely never installed in production engines, but only available a service items after production ceased, so quite rare. Then finding an old school shop which will still build welded strokers; also quite rare. It took him three years to git 'er done, but here's a 3.875" stroke crank. jack vines

The shop owner, who's been grinding for forty years, says the Packard forged crank counterweights aren't right. He welded on large additions to the second and fourth counterweights.
