Those signatures are almost identical!

But years ago, where I worked, one of the senior managers would spend hours in his office practicing his signature with a fountain pen. Result was a "perfect" signature each time he had to sign a document and with only an infinitesimal difference between any of his signatures. But how did we, the workers, know this was what he was using his very valuable time for? Because one day, while he was out of his office, someone had cause to enter the office and accidentally tipped over his waste paper basket. The foolscap sheets which fell out contained "the evidence" being covered in his signatures!
