That could be right Don, I suppose the answer will be found in the AQ book or one of McPherson's publications. But I thought 1938 because of that exceptionally lovely art-carved A. J. Miller hearse on the 1938 120 chassis that used to make the show circuits regularly. Do you wish a photo of it?

Thank you for the offer and I would love a photo of it, I've seen pictures but only the low resolution half-toned versions as published in books. Unless you want to post it, please PM me for my direct email or contact me through my site below.

Old Kodachrome, taken at the 1993 Packard National in Asheville, NC. Those A. J. Miller art-carved were stunning!
As Packard had supplied some 1938 chassis to Miller, that's why I thought their exclusive with Henney couldn't have been consummated in 1937.

That New Hampshire car looks like a 23rd series Eight with 22nd series Super Eight trim. Different.

In last nights' movie on TCM, the couple stole a Victoria convertible just like this. The girl made a uturn so there was a good shot of the Packard. Boyfriend jumps in, you could see him shift to 2nd then 3rd as they speed off. I look for Packards in old movies.

Hi Guscha
Those are rear seat wind deflectors, useful when summer cooling was four windows down, forty mph. An accessory available from a variety of aftermarket outfits like Western Auto and J.C. Whitney in the era, they turn up in sedan periodically. I doubt this pair are a Packard-specific item. Checking Mr Neal's text, only a convertible tonneau wind deflector is listed. Steve
