Hello everybody.

I have -55 400ht car.
Ultramatic works only right D position and R works allso. I`ve seen adapters for GM tranny. They are quite expensive (900,00$) and I have to allso shipping and tax and customs.
Does anyone have used adapter kit to sell?

It`s allmost impossible to service Ultramatic here in Finland, and very expensive (3500,00$).

G'day Mikko,
to PackardInfo but sorry I can't help with your query.

Instead I invite you to include your '55 Four Hundred Hardtop in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

My first guess is that your high range clutch is worn out and will not hold. If you would like an adventure you could rebuild it yourself with a kit. If you don't want that much adventure I could do an Ultramatic for you and ship it over but it would be $3000 plus by the time it got there.

Hello mikko

Kari Nätkin can fix twinultramatic in finland.

Can you tell more about the broblem? If the gearbox works correct in D position, then the broblem is in gear motor.

Im also in finland. I have 56 executive.
