1939 Packard?

I'm going to sell a roller, well, it might be if it had new tires :) but I have no idea how to value it. It was my deceased father's car. Very rusty, but I think it's pretty much complete. After looking over this site, I think that it's a 1939 but I'm not sure.

Any input would be welcome and appreciated. I plan to post it once I'm sure of the model, and have some idea what a fair asking price would be.

Thanks for your help!

G'day Dad Loved It,
to PackardInfo.

Believe what you have is a '38 Eight Coupe rather than it being a '39. Although relatively complete, it's pretty beat up, and would need a lot of work to return it to its former splendour.

And, I invite you to include it in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

Definitely a 1938 based on the bit of trim that goes up onto the roof at the center of the windshield. 1938 was the only year to have it.

It was probably a restorable car 40 years ago when it was driven into the field. Definitely a 38 Eight by the tail lights.
can't figure the duct tape on the dash?

I wondered about that too, and I think you are probably right. Is it worth anything at all?

Seeing no spark plugs, the engine is likely seized and based on the raised bossed on the rear side of the head which were used with the ElectroMatic Clutch option, the head and maybe the engine itself is 1941 or later.

As for value, very little but it may have some good parts. That said, anything is restorable giving time, skill and/or money so maybe you could tackle it yourself in your father’s memory!
