Does anyone know if any of the 1937 Super-Eight Business sedans or limousines have survived in their original configuration? or have they unwittingly been restored to the standard personal configuration?

The rear area was more sparse for heavier duty....no foot rest, rigid assist handle, no decoration on rear door, etc...

While I have the brochure photo, I would really like to have an actual photograph in my forth-coming book.

If you know of any in private collections or museums, I would appreciate contact information.

I can't recall if Dan Danielson's (NJ) business limo has been upgraded or is still as-built but you could check directly with him. His is the only 1937 Business car that I'm aware of.

I just spoke with Robert Danielson and he described the rear as standard personal limo...foot rest, cloth assist strap, ask tray in the arm rest.

Suppose you checked out the Registry? If not, there's this '37 Super Eight Business Limo listed.

I tried to reach him a couple years ago by sending a letter to Victor NY but the letter came back for lack of an address and the registry does not have a means to contact the owner. (that I am aware of...)

One of the earlier Henry Joy Tours was based in Victor, NY, perhaps the owner was a participant. I still have the tour data and will see if it includes a list. If not you might contact the tour organizer to see if he can be identified.

P$. I found my participant list from the Victor tour. There were two 1937 Super Eight limousines on tour, no further identification on either. Neither owner gave Victor as a home address though both were from upstate New York. Sorry, looks like a dead end.

I have the low down on that '37 limo in Victor, NY you were trying to track down.

Sadly the owner Rick Tice, a good friend of mine, died about five years ago. His health just gave out. Prior to his death we would do "old cars" together as I live 15 minutes from him. I drove his business limo often. I own a '38 Eight 4 door touring sedan. Before he died, knowing his health was taking a turn for the worse, he tried real hard to sell me that car. I declined. After he passed his sister again tried to sell me that car. I said thanks but no thanks.

Fast forward a year and I heard that the local hot rod shop in Victor was tearing it apart and rodding it. I went and looked at it in the beginning stages and half of me cried the other half was glad I was not doing that job. Major rot of the wooden parts, bad rust and the likes. Honestly a mess. Well over a $100K project. Big block motor, interior, paint etc. I have not seen or heard of the finished project since the Covid thing but I will look into it soon.

I miss you Rick and our Packard days. RIP good buddy and your old car too.

Any chance you could get the data plate off the firewall...or at least a photo of it?
I am curious to know if it was really a business limo like the pic in this thread.
If so...what happened to the assist bars and the ash trays from the wall?
What happened to the engine?
