Is there a good 1950's or 60 any make carburetor that will work on a 1938 Packard 6 cyl? The current carb is not an original and has a lot of issues and I would like to replace it with a different carb.

Specs say the 38 six used a 1 barrel carb and if that is the case Daytona Partsdaytonaparts.com has a couple of 1 barrel replacement carbs that might fit and work. Can't speak for the complete carbs but they have been doing quality rebuilds for many of us on the forum for quite some time.

Their CHV Universal Automobile replacement model is shown installed on a 40 Packard Six and the UN2 model is slightly different and is on a 47 Stude pickup.

Might check out the "Replacement Carburetors" section on their homepage or give them a call to see what they say could be done.

I'm using Carter WA-1's on my '37 and '40 and have had zero problems with them.

My '37 had a bastardized version, with linkage cobbled up by a blind blacksmith. I picked up two others from ebay, bolted them on and away we went.

Fuel injection sounds pretty intriguing to me though!
