Does anyone know the thread for that part? Can you get that kind of threading tap anywhere?
the nut has worn loose and I would have made a new one.

It would be very difficult to make a new part like that.

The threads on the outside of the bushing are supposed to look like that.

Some play in the fit of the bolt to the bushing is probably normal.

I would look for new parts or very good used ones if your parts need replaced.

Shop manual procedures need to be closely followed when assembling suspension parts, and new seals are needed.

Doesn't Kanter make new ones of those?

Max Merritt should have them NOS but it is an odd thread. I have a couple somewhere that may be NOS that came in a load of old dealer parts that I bought years ago and always wondered what the threads were. As a prototype journeyman machinist who saw just about every kind of thread imaginable, that one had me stumped. Howard suggested Acme and it does resemble one but the proportions are wrong.

Thread is same as "W 5/8" 11z/1" But diameter is smaller than 1 inch.

I already ordered a new one, but it was just as loose as the old one.

Part was new old stock, made by toledo parts.

is it true that cadillac uses the same part?

"I already ordered a new one, but it was just as loose as the old one."

I don't think these parts were ever a very tight fit.

The bushing itself must be a tight fit in the control arm, but the bolt, or pin, has to have some clearance in the bushing to allow for flex in the suspension system.

I would consult the correct shop manual for assembly procedures. Improper assembly could lead to issues with binding of parts or difficulty making alignment adjustments.

Front end techs today may not be aware of how to set up and adjust alignment on these suspension systems.

Those parts are by design not a snug precision fit. I don't know about Cadillac but some of those knuckle support parts are also used by Buicks.

Measured the play on two new ones. At a distance of 2.5 cm from the bushing, the play was 0.38 mm on one, and 0.30 on the other.
