This 1942 120 Convertible Coupe is a car I've seen in person in Calif when I was out there helping to sort the estate.

It was a car I considered, but it was too apart for me to get it back to Illinois easily, and then the Jagard dropped into my lap.

This car has a very cool back story and history. Check out Gerry's (Southwest Packards) listing for it.

Few recent FB postings:

1955 Clipper Super sedan. Very original car in solid black. Looks like it could be a good daily driver. Incorrect wheel covers, but I'm sure you could easily come up with a set. Upstate NY:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/7699412012 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1935 120 Sedan (flat trunk model). Body looks very straight and rust free, but incorrect replacement interior. Needs cosmetics and is way overpriced at $39,999. I've seen fully restored 120 sedans of this vintage for less money. Located in Connecticut:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1654968908 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1928 526 Sedan. Original, unrestored barn find. Needs everything but appears complete. Located in Maine:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1226755814 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1940 110 Convertible Coupe. Fully restored and very pretty in dark maroon with a tan top and interior. Think $53K asking price is a bit too high for a 110. There is a 1940 120 on FB in MA (previously posted here) for $50K that is still for sale after several months. Car located in Wisconsin:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/6372028445 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1951 200 Deluxe Sedan from Alabama. Appears car has been in storage for a long time, possibly decades. I can make out the remains of a state inspection sticker from 1966 on the windshield. Needs total resto, but body does look good. Has Ultramatic Drive:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/8057448545 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1937 115C Coupe. Fully restored and looks sharp in silver with red wheels. Marysville, GA:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/7711080144 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1956 Clipper Super Panama hardtop. Unrestored, but mostly complete. Has factory air. Seller says he has many extra parts including NOS quarter panels. Attractive turquoise and white paint scheme. Iowa:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1641216936 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1953 Mayfair hardtop. Rough unrestored, am seeing significant rust in the floor pan and interior is pretty much gone. May be better as a parts car but looks like it is all there. Kansas:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/7343431448 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1956 400. Looks really nice, but incorrect interior. Seller (a dealer) claims 51K original miles. Houston, TX:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1419460755 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1955 Clipper Super Panama HT. Looks decent, but needs some cosmetics. TX:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/9557498188 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1953 Clipper Deluxe Sedan. Exterior body looks great but has a really bad replacement interior. Ugly fabric. Chrome not good either. Ambitiously priced at $15K. Think about a third of that should do:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/6076633313 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1955 400. Solid unrestored original, looks complete. Think it would be a good project. Ad says car runs, but apparently not road worthy:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/2309847395 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1947 Clipper 6 sedan. Restored and looks really good for the asking price of just $8K. CA:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/7895382558 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1940 110 Opera Coupe. Straight car, but paint looks badly faded. Ad states car has not run since 2017. CA:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1384624332 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1937 120 Convertible Sedan. Restored with light blue exterior and dark blue interior. Has dual side mounts. If this car were closer to me, I'd be interested. Question. Is this an original color? Located in CA:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/2097588050 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

1939 Super 8 (Model 1703) LWB sedan. Restored, dark blue with dual side mounts. Burbank, CA:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/6205657389 ... _code=null&referral_story_type=post

Two 1951 Packard 200 sedans. Rough project cars; could probably make one good one from what's there. Nevada:

Don’t believe poster’s descriptions as the 1956 Panama does not have factory A/C. Its a trunk unit so clearly aftermarket as the factory unit was in the dash.

The '47 seems really good for the asking price, but two big things stop me on it -- no overdrive........and to me the white paint just does not show off the lines of the Clipper. Just doesn't look right painted white to me.

I'd love a convertible sedan but that color. Terrible.

The guy who painted the 37 convertible must of been color blind.

The 35 120 sedan says he's firm on his price. He will own this car till his kids sell his estate and it will bring 10k at best.

55 - looks decent for the price, depends on mileage and maintenance. Poor paint job around the rear 1/4 panels... I'm sure there's Bondo hiding

35 - "only" 77k miles and firm on price but he won't wash it for you...

28 - is that restorable or do you think the mechanical parts are too far gone?

40 - very nice and the price looks right
-
-
-
-
56 - this 400 has been up for a while. I don't really see what the appeal is of putting resto rod seats and door cards in an otherwise very nice car. The maroon doesn't pair well at all with the scarlet red.

55 - nice color HT though the fender skirts don't match in color. Looks like some free trippe lights (?) on the front but missing hubcaps, and no interior shots.

53 - have seen this posted before, and let's say I'm not surprised it's still for sale. Nearly everything that was repaired for aesthetic reasons was done in the complete wrong direction, such as the body-painted chrome. For 15k. Even the tires still look ancient.

55 - Rear seat obviously redone in the past, and lots of water damage in the interior. I can smell the rotted floor pan from here...

53 - price looks good but I agree white is not the best color on this.

40 - clean interior but that paint job would have to go...

37 - ah, the ol' easy bake oven combo... great in the 50's, but just looks off on a '37. Wonder when the interior was redone.
-
51 - one looks like the seat was already redone then parked.

While I agree that the color scheme on the 1937 120 Convertible Sedan leaves something to be desired, I have seen worse. What I really hate is when people two tone mid to late 1930's cars (fenders a different color than the body). Why do people do this when it is so obviously incorrect and looks bad too? Like this poor 115C:

cars.com/vehicledetail/78ee811f-bac7-44b ... tm_medium=TRP&utm_campaign=atempest

What were they thinking?? I once saw a late 30's Packard sedan that was yellow with chocolate brown fenders. It looked like a taxi cab.

Also, back to the '37 120 Convertible Sedan. I'm wondering what are those things mounted over the headlights? Never saw these before.

Speaking of taxis, the color combo of that 115C you linked instantly reminded me of this specific Checker Model A

You have to give the 526 credit for not having drooping door handles.
