Are most straight 8 engines green ?
Does anyone make a rattle can that’s close ?
Doesn't have to be exact.
Mine actually looks gray , but I’ve seen pics of green engines that look much nicer.

You made no mention of year or model but most 1948 through 1954 were gray except for the 1954 359 which was bronze. Prior to early 1948, they were typically green. Bill Hirsch (Hirsch Automotive Products) offers the paint in original colors but only some colors are available as aerosol.

Talemon,

Seeing you're putting this engine in a Model A Ford Coupe, "correct" engine colour isn't a necessity, but.....it would be nice to keep it a Packard colour. As mentioned, Hirsch can supply the green but, if you go for grey, I believe Massey Ferguson Grey is almost an exect match.

Don,

The engine was identified in an earlier post as a '50 288, so grey is probably the "correct" colour.

Bell Telephone green was a match in the '70s. Should still be around. I touched my '47 356 up with a dab of a friend's leftover 1941 Cadillac Bill Hirsch green and it was a dead match.

Not that it matters, but i wish Packard had used that later gray all along. A cleaner, brighter look when the hood's open instead of that depressing, murky sea green.
