Got the other fender striped. Welded up the same places that the other side needed. The damage on this fender is more extensive.

Also there is a lot more dings and other dents. This side for sure had a rougher life.

The fender has been pulled back into proper general shape and protected from further rust until I can do all the proper body work.

I’m not sure what you said in the last sentence but it appears you’re making good progress!

My sanity? It could use a little (a lot) help! Anyway, I thought the paragraph was funny and got a vague notion of what you meant even if the words didn’t make sense. Glad it’s all coming along so very nicely.

Following the older postings on brakes on this thread...

Here is a brake spring installation tech note I picked up along the way.

It really properly describes spring colors, lengths and inferred stiffer on the primary (forwardmost) shoe.

Nice article but too bad the author did not specify years as some models are different. For example, 55-6 senior models had orange instead of red primaries and Clippers used the same blue springs for both shoes. No idea how much if any differences the other colors might signify. On some full brake overhaul kits with shoes that Kanter supplied their provided springs were both grey.

I wrote that article almost 20 years ago. The intent was to inform our members regarding brake shoe and return spring differences. There was an update regarding spring colors.
For the most part the primary springs available as replacements were red/orange and sometimes maroon depending on supplier. (Packard #303837). The secondary replacement
springs are yellow or grey depending on supplier. Packard#303836. I have concluded that these return springs fit years and models with 12 inch brakes. The point is
the shoes and springs must be installed correctly for proper brake performance.

Has anyone added or found any rubber hood corners that fit the rear corners of a 37 junior hood? I'm realizing it's very easy to scratch the fender paint.

Metro Molded Parts used to sell universal hood corners and maybe still do. Did your 1937 have them originally? I know my 1940 did and so did my 1939 but my knowledge or prior models is limited.

The 37's had front corners, but not rear ones. Which is really where they are need to help avoid scratching the fenders.
