Sadly you'll need that entire knob piece as it's all made as a single assemble. So there is no way to take it apart any further to just replace that bezel cover.

So I maxed out my posts for 1 day, but rest assured I do appreciate the guidance! Next I am tackling the wire harness, and looking for further guidance on approach, watch outs, etc. I have a nice color diagram and have mapped it against the instructions from YnZ. I have laid out the new harness and see how I will "snake" it in.

Thoughts/Questions to start:
1. Take pictures of existing harness layout as reference
2. Remove old harness
3. Snake in new harness.......Should I start behind the dash or in the engine? Does it matter?

Thanks again for the guidance and the support! It was a challenge, but I am certain not the last one on this wonderful journey!

Take pictures of everything. Label the connections off the old harness as you disconnect them. This gives you a reference in case something doesn't make sense.

I always found the confluence of most harnesses is usually under dash. So I'd lay the body of the "octopus" on the floor under the dash and then pull the various "arm" groupings through to where they belong. So you'll pull the wiring through the firewall into engine bay, etc.

Thanks BK! Agree on the documenting and labeling idea.

Also, I see you had the dashboard panels redone on the Jackard. Did you do the woodgrain yourself? Or send them out to get done? I think as I have mine apart I want to venture down that road assuming it is not too cost prohibitive.

I horse-traded with someone for some parts I had, and in exchange, they painted the panels for me. He does it as a hobby. I'm unsure what he would charge or what others charge for it.

I had my dash panels done by Joe Goss of Woodgrain By Estes. Excellent work and easy to work with. I don't recall the price as he also did all of my window surrounds at the same time. They were pretty crusty too.

Made some more progress today. Got all the wires removed from behind the dash. Labeled for future reference if needed, but i certainly hope that is not needed!

QUESTION: Can I remove the steel wires/tube that feed into the Temp and Oil gauges? I would like to get the entire gauge house out and give it a goo cleaning, but they look pressed in?
