I currently own a 50,000-mile 1940 Packard 1808 touring sedan with factory air, a car I remember staring at when I was very, very young. It was in a small museum in Brooten, Minnesota.

West,

It's very likely that I saw your car, as I am only a couple of years older than you and went to the Brooten museum quite a few times in those days! And I was ALWAYS looking for the Packards!

Thanx much MrPushbutton!

I'm fascinated with Packards story in automotive
history.....I also think that the Packard 12 cyl
engine beat the Cadillac 16 in almost every way...
haha....hence my ID. Anyways, I still love the 16's.

I find that alot of car guys my age are becoming
more and more appreciative of Packards and cars
from the classic Era. Unfortunately...when people
think of ''classic cars'' they think of the cars
from the 50's and 60's (for the most part)...I
think its our duty to relay the message that Packard
and other independents like it, left their mark
and in the end, got; the 'last laugh'.

Hey Roman,

Are you a member of Packards of Chicagoland (POC)? It's a great group of people who share a passion for these great cars. We are actively looking for younger members. Let me know if you're interested and I'll shoot you a PM with more details.

Lots of events and tours coming up this summer. Love to have you join us.
