There were a couple 1940s with the quarter windows filled in and running boards deleted by Bohman and Schwartz. I never saw a 1939 (1940 was easier due to the recess around the windows) but I used to have a 1940 110 that way too,

Very unusual to see a radio delete plate on a 56, and on a Custom no less.

That might be the same car I put an offer on a year or so ago. If not, it has the same colors as my 1956 Clipper Custom but ordered in reverse of the standard which was an option.

Few FB postings I spotted today:

1956 400. Very rough parts car. May be just scrap metal at this point. Probably little that is actually salvageable off this one. Engine missing. Seller asking an ambitious $1,200 for this pile. New York:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1599389924 ... 251d0b2-f377-4848-a89e-d76df04664ad

1955 Clipper Deluxe Sedan. Unrestored, but looks relatively solid and complete. Has been for sale for months. Think I may have posted this one before, but recent major price reduction from $3,000 to a more reasonable $1,200. Virginia:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/3806066511 ... 251d0b2-f377-4848-a89e-d76df04664ad

1941 120 Coupe. Beautifully restored car with dual side mounts, but incredibly overpriced by seller at $75K. Have seen nice convertibles advertised for considerably less. New Jersey:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1555164525 ... 75935e8-451a-4d8d-b5bd-26e96a211727

1938 Six Sedan. Rough and rusty from apparently years of outdoor storage but looks complete. Not running. Asking $5K. North Carolina:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/6293061651 ... 251d0b2-f377-4848-a89e-d76df04664ad

1951 200 Sedan. Project car, somewhat rough but looks complete. Not running. Asking $3,000. Kentucky:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/4559616573 ... b870d52-cfa2-46be-88ac-a7356f0f1025

1941 120 Sedan. Very nicely restored. Beautiful car and probably one of the nicest ones I've seen of this model. Asking $20,700. Amarillo, TX:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/7736761973 ... b168fa5-3ca1-4156-bb9f-c02ba2f627b5

1935 Super Eight Limo. Has division window. Partially completed restoration, paint complete, interior partially done in wool broadcloth. Much work completed, but still has a way to go. Seller asking $25K. California:

I do love the description on the '53 Sportster: "Minimal rust but does need a couple of patches". Lol, the missing floor and giant holes in the rear quarters look every bit as bad as my Rusty McRustface parts car.

Beware that ‘54 Pacific. I have looked into that car previously with a different seller and have just communicated with this seller. That car has a cracked block. It’s an eggshell crack at the base of the distributor that has been patched with epoxy or some other sealant. When I talked to a prior owner several years ago I had to drag this out of him since he only said it had "a small leak". He later admitted he knew the block was cracked and sent me pictures. The current seller just told me this has been “fixed” when I asked whether the engine had been replaced. I am not sure the current seller is different from the one I dealt with several years ago. He sounds like he has had the car awhile and seems to say the same things the guy I previously talked to said. The current seller stated in an email;

“The engine block has not been replaced as I saw no need to do that. The epoxy or whatever sealant was used to seal the crack has worked as far as I am concerned. I have not made a one way trip more than 30 miles but would not have any hesitation driving it farther. If you are within drivable distance I will drive the car to you. The leak is minor as you will see some discoloration in the block.”

Not saying not to buy it, just know what you’re getting into so you can make informed decisions as to value and work likely needed. Buyer beware. If he didn’t disclose this, could there be other things not disclosed.

Water jacket cracks are fairly easy to repair but it would require a complete disassembly of the engine and magnafluxing it to look for and repair any other cracks.
