I too had a question about what publication the author was referring. I believe he means "The Packard Source List or Sources of Packard Parts and Services". Sorry, no author name only initials: "JWH". You may be able to buy a copy from the Packard Club (PAC) or Kanter. I have a 2005 copy which came with my 115C when I purchased it in 2006. I hope this helps.
(o{}o) Here you go. Reading my copy more closely I see the author's contact information. James Hill, 1419 College Drive, Emporia, KS 66801-5250 USA, 620-342-4826, E-mail jnrhill@osprey.net He lists a price of $7 USD for buyers not in the U.S. and Canada. He is still listed in the PAC directory at this address. Maybe I should get an updated copy.

The Jim Hill "Source List" has been around for many years and is in fairly wide distribution. What I don't know is if it's been regularly updated to reflect changes in supply situations or is still the original edition which would be quite old and outdated by now.

Thanks for your response! That info helps make more sense of the book reference. I will check into it.

Just popping in

Hello all, I guess I'm coming in quite a bit late on this topic, but I just received my copy of "The Production Packard 1935-1937 Restoration Reference" by Dar Kuell, © 2024 and wanted to follow that up with the aforementioned "Packard Source Guide" that is referenced in the book as discussed in this thread. I had previously emailed Mr. Jim Hill regarding this publication, but received no response, so decided to call him personally today. I spoke with Mr. Hill and he said he has not published that reference guide for about two years and has completely gotten out of the Packard and Studebaker affiliations. He did sound rather up in years and just has no desire to continue with those associations anymore.
So then, if anyone who is up to date on where to acquire this "Packard Source Guide" maybe you could point me and any of those interested in the right direction. Yes Jim has gotten up there in years and I think 2019 was the last update. But with everything that happened during COVID, many of those sources listed in the guide have dried up.
While the majority of the items in The Production Packard are correct, there are several glaring errors that were never corrected. So verify before taking everything as gospel. Somewhere I have a copy of the 2019 version of Jim's list.

I'll have to see if I find my copy of the List. It's one of those items that has been laying around my office for the like 2 years, and now I can't find it. But then again I've probably have 20,000 pages of material I have sifted through over the last couple of years. So it could have got shifted into one of about ten boxes.
