Wanted - 56 Patrician or Executive 4 Dr

On the hunt for a nice driver quality or better 56 4 door. Interested in either a Patrician or Executive Sedan. There is a nice executive in Louisiana for $16k, but I believe that to be a little high although it is a nice-looking car. There have been two executives on Bring a Trailer that were bid to $8,600 and $10,000 respectively and did not sell. The $8,600 car is still for sale for well over $20k which seems crazy to me. That car out of Colorado is exactly what I want but the price IMO is way off. There is a decent Patrician for sale in PA for $14k, I've seen the car up close and believe that price to be high given condition, although the seller is very reasonable and understanding of what he has. In my head (and using Hagerty valuation tool) a nice, but not perfect executive should be in the 10-12 range, and a Patrician a little higher in the 15-18 range. Am I way off base? I'm ok with being wrong on this but it just seems sellers are asking prices purely based on what they have invested in the car, which is fine, but doesn't mean they are in line with market value. I know, a car is worth what someone is willing to pay, and a seller can ask whatever they want...just looking to get a gut check on what these cars really should be worth.

If anyone has leads on a good 56 4dr at a realistic price let me know, the wife loves Persian aqua, Eire green, anything in the blue/green family.

You just missed a beautiful Persian Aqua/Dover White '56 Patrician here in the PNW. Nice paint, chrome, redone interior. The guy had it priced to sell at $10K. Doesn't appear to have lasted on the market long. It was up a couple months ago and sold within a month or so.

Sounds, like that would have been exactly what I needed! But I agree, at that price it should sell.

Your assessment of the situation appears to be quite reasonable. There are people asking crazy prices for exclusive rust buckets or bondo queens and, at the same time, people unable to sell good cars for very reasonable money. It seems like nobody is checking the prices, etc., nor making the necessary adjustments for the vehicle's condition, these days. I am seeing cars for sale that I saw ~2 years ago. I've seen $20k cars that were in considerably worse condition in comparison to the same $10k cars

These cars are not very numerous, though, so you should check what's for sale, once in a while. It might take some time before you find your car. Making offers would not hurt either. I, once, saw a car that was x2.5 times over my budget (and it might've been actually worth that much, because it was rare and in great condition). I kept watching it for a couple of years, as the price was gradually coming down because, for whatever reason, it was still for sale. Once it was at the point where I thought that someone else might actually buy it, I went ahead and bought it I remember, after the sale, the PO asked me whether or not he's got good money for it... To which I replied that it was at the medium-high level, according to my estimate, but I really liked it.

One more thing: have you seen this Canadian Clipper?packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=29209 This ain't a 56, nor a Packard, but it looks interesting, assuming that this was a quality repair

I know someone with a sharp 56 Deluxe. Plain car but interior is excellent. Said to be in good condition, but it has been sitting a few years.

That PA Garage looks awfully familiar. How many Packards/Clippers did they have in there?

There were 5 crammed in there LOL. Along with a Kaiser Darrin, a 56 Cadillac, a 50's Buick 8, Mercury Monterrey, Pontiac, Chrysler sedan, later Chrysler Imperial convertible, Willys Aero Coupe, Mercury Montclair, an MG, and a couple of Amish buggies.

One is now in my garage and the pink one in the background, Australia. AFAIK the other 3 are still there. Though I heard that some collector MAYBE bought them all. I would have seen if it was on the open market.

That was a great stash, somebody had. So, one 4-door went to Australia, I remember that one, you've got the project one. There was also one 55 400, and two more? 2-door or 4-door? Are any of them still available? I remember looking into the 55 400, 2 years ago. As I recall, it was rather expensive and in somewhat questionable condition
