Somebody got a great deal for a unique build. But what happened to the rear bumper? I assume the plating was in good shape when Ross built it. Did the owner just leave the thing outside?

In addition to areas on the bumper, there also looks to be something going on with the sheet metal panel below the tailgate. Some of it might just be dirt or leaves accumulated in the joint where it meets a fill panel or gravel shield under the bumper but over toward the left tail light it looks like there might be some more developing patches of rust.

If it was stored outside during winter, I can see snow accumulating in those areas. Add in road salt and time.

Looking back at the pictures and video on BaT, it looks like the car was located in a coastal environment. So that makes a bit more sense. If they were driving on the beach, then the rear of the car would take the brunt of the damage.
