Hi, "Reasonable" may be a poor choice of words. The job should be done right.Sometimes that means $$$.I am sure some of the guys here can direct you to a place that can help. Brian

I knew that would get some attention. So far reasonable seems to mean $2K or more. Does that sound like a 'right' choice?
Thanks

From my limited experience, $500 seems a more reasonable price (that's about what I paid), but then again, I have no idea what a 1927 426 Radiator looks like.

Seems like the figure of $4-600 was mentioned for a re-core of the 51-56 style by a couple of people and I would imagine yours would be a lot more difficult to come up with something proper or appropriate than those.

Have you checked PAC Or Packards International to see who they list in their Club references?

I just had a radiator recored and installed in Omaha at Bob's Radiator on my 54 Clipper Deluxe. Quite a distance from you but I'm pleased with the work. It cost $475 plus $33.25 tax and $16.55 core freight. They kept the fins original and widened the core to 2 inches to hold more volume. The dimensions on mine are 20 1/2 x 22 1/2 x 2. See picture below.

I don't recall if those 4th series radiators were tube & fin, or cellular, but they are pretty substantial units. Typical prices here in NJ/NY for a recore of 32-34 era tube and fin runs about $750, typical postwar radiators about $500. If a cellular, probably about $2500, perhaps more.

Was your 4-26 by any chance the dark blue car that belonged for many years to an AACA judge who lived in central Pennsylvania?
