Those plates show medallion part numbers for all but the 110. JD, Just as well I've got guys like you to keep me honest! But in my defence my manual, a modern reprint, doesn't have those intro pages so I was literally caught short. If I hadn't realised that, my feeble excuse would have been along the lines of "never let the facts get in the way of a good story".

Sorry to come late to the party, but the 110 does not have a medallion for the hood latch. The hood latch frame is all one part, and it has a circle at the front with "110" written on it. Or at least that's what my '41 110 has, which I assume is correct. I'll take a picture if I get a chance.

Here's the 110 emblem that I described.

Might as well wrap up this illuminating discussion of 1941 Packard Medallions with the 180 Medallion.

If I were Packard, I would have that "110" hiding under the small emblem on the 120 (and 110 Deluxe?), and the double bulls eye under the cloisonn? on the 180 (I'm pretty sure it is). In other words have only 2 louver variations (3 if the 120's is longer for the longer hood). Anybody peeked?

Sounds logical but all 4 latch mechanisms have different part numbers. The latch portion is visibly different between the 110, 120 and 180/160. Looks the same 180-160 but I don't think there's enough room under the 180 medallion to accommodate the additional 160 'bulls eye' ring (the medallion isn't very convex and fits flush). I'll know for sure when I remove the latches from the '41 to strip/sand/prime & paint but that's not going to happen 'till late 2010 (with any luck).
