While waiting for my panel beater to fix my right rear door I decided to get my mother to make me a "car dust cover" for the Packard.

I got some very soft durable material dirt cheap. (I think the cheapness was because of the color! LOL!!) As the car is under a car port my biggest concern is to keep it dust free. The material is heavy enough not to move in the wind and is totally breathable. It is cotton. I used approximately 17 meters to get the car covered! Now I have a big strawberry colored Packard! LOL!

Looks much better than the old multi-colored bed sheets I have draped all over mine. Your mother did a nice job.

At long last got back the rear door from the panel beater. He did a good job patching the holes with new metal and then used lead to fill in. He is a real artist with metal work and from the old school - NO body fillers!

He also fille din the beading holes on the spat plates. This was done with a Mig welder. Cant even see they were there. Now I can start preparing for painting the doors and start assembly! Whoohoo!!

Glad to report that all 4 doors, 2 wheel covers and the gas tank flap is now at long last in primer. Will wait till next weekend for it to cure absolutely and then wet sand and start painting final coat. Cant believe I am here already. At times it seemed as if I will never finish. Will post pictures later.
The pic posted here is of a friend and his 37 115C. I helped him to get it loaded for a year end function. He prefers towing it to the destination as our highway network is in a shambles cause of the soccer world cup next year.

Your friend tows with a front wheel dolly.
Does he disconnect the drive shaft to do that?

No, he does not disconnect the drive shaft. I figure it is still better than driving the car to the venue. Are there any concerns you might raise with this method of towing? I will definitely let him know if there is something to be concerned about. The dolly is actually a very interesting piece of equipment. Personally I do not trust it yet, but it works very well. It feels as if the car wants to fall off all the time, but one can tow at a very respectable speed. Here is some more pics of the car on the dolly.

No reason to disconnect the driveshaft if it's not an automatic, which that car obviously is not.

Manual tranny makes sense.
I've had trailer rentals make all kinds of requirements about Dolly trailers and rear wheel drive cars. Doesn't mean they know what they are talking about.

I have pulled cars with a old 'front bumper hitch' arrangement without problem.

Here's a picture of a WIDER wheeled Dolly that I would trust more. What ever works for your friend. He has a NICE lookin Packard.

My concern on the use of this method to tow is that all the braking is to be supplied by the brakes of the vehicle doing the towing. My concern is that in our area there are a lot of hills going down would add a lot of extra strain on the brakes of the towing vehicle. The 4 wheel trailers I prefer have there own brake system a extra safety measure as the Packard is a heavy automobile
