My passion for the Owner Registry is well known but in checking out the Packard Dealer Registry I see there are 571 dealers listed! By comparison, although the Packard Owner's Registry has grown considerably, to the tune of now having 538 Packards listed, I find it incongrous that there are more dealers than Packard listed on this Site!

Accordingly I am taking up arms again in the tradition of "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more" to reset the balance of Packards to Dealers. From this time hence I will take every opportunity to welcome and encourage new members to the Site to include their Packards in the Registry.

Just to add some more fuel to fire (non-ethanol based ).....

I know have over 1,700 Dealers added to the working Excel Sheet. Still have about 20 more pages of Dealers to add, so perhaps another 500 or so. Then the weeding process will happen to condense the duplicates. So I am imagining close to 2,000 Dealers when all said and done.

Hurry up Mal, your falling behind fast!

Seriously though, here beginneth the challenge. With 1811 PackardInfo members we should be able able to rustle up at least 2001 Packards between the lot of us. So guys and gals, yes there are some of the female persuasion here, lets do it! If you haven't already entered your Packard/s in the Packard Owner's Registry DO IT NOW!

How many memebers does this forum currently have?

Until I read this thread I assumed(my bad) that the 2 dealers that I actually knew about were already there. I think each of us should look at the dealer registry to make sure. I did and I had to add the 2 that I knew of.

I think that you might be forgetting a few things. Just because there are over 1800 members doesn't tell the whole story.

The are certainly not 1800 member that post here at Packardinfo. Members come and go, not all that become members own a Packard. Persons that join may not want others to know what they own.

In fact, a year of so ago, Kev did a purge of in-active members and cut the numbers down considerably at that time and since then the "membership" has grown considerably. There certainly is a hard-core element of members, followed by various more casual users and then those who join and probably come back very infrequently or not at all. Those who don't wish to register their Packard/s for whatever reason I'll never be able to reach. All I'll be doing is making a request of new members or any member, if and when they first post, to include their Packards in the Packard Owner's Registry. There will only be one request and those that do include their Packard/s in the Registry will be acknowledged and thanked for doing so.
In fact to MarkPlucenik for including his '56 Executive Hardtop Coupe in the Registry.
