Bias Ply Forever! But, having bought them used, you might not know how old they actually are, and the rubber can degrade substantially just sitting there. So, when you get ready to drive, be extra careful and bring along one or two good spares. You might want to "spare" your bias tires and get another set of rims to mount radials for everyday. I saw some Uniroyal Tiger Paws, which I didn't know were still made--in the U.S. no less!--the other day. A friend had them on his, er, Toyota. But they're really quiet and ride nice-- at least on a Camry. I plan to look into them at some point.

i plan to get some radials for long trips. but right now money is focused else where. i know where a plenty o rims are, so i should be okay at that point. one of my driver rims is bent a bit...so i would like to replace it one day.

look at pic of my lever....is mine right? it is not curved like in the manual. thoughts?

be careful when putting in the planetary gear set....you can break the rings if you aren't, just like it says in the manual. dummy input shaft helps alot. i had to use one fromt he old trans. worked fine.

had a little helper last night too...;0) he loved it.

and don't kid yourself....it is a PITA trying to put this thing back together....i had a few words to say to it a couple of times, especially when i smashed my fingers at one point. i think i even said i hated it. LOL ;0)

show of hands, how many people actually read and benefit from my blog......cause taking these pics is fine...but posting them for no cause is not.

i take the pics for me.....but i post them to be nice and help others....but if noone reads or benefits...it is pointless.

just wondering. not trying to be on a soap box....i really just wonder who all follows even if they don't post anything.
