Hi everybody,

My name is Keegan and I am a new member to the site. I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the wealth of knowledge there is here. I know how important it will be now that I just bought my first Packard. It's a 1955 Clipper Sedan that I bought with the proceeds from selling my 1954 Chevy.

Thanks for such a great resource!

G'day Keegan and welcome aboard.

You'll find a lot of friendly, experienced and knowledgeable Packard people here who are willing to help and share their experiences.

By the way, if you haven't already done so, can you add your 55 Clipper with a pic to the Owner Registry please?

Again

Welcome Aboard, Keegan!

It's nice to see another newcomer who appreciates this growing knowledgebase.

Yes, you will find plenty of Packard folks willing to share their experience, including many seasoned V8 owners, but make it a point to download factory references like the shop manual, service counselors and technical bulletins. (I'm still working on a complete scan of the parts book - be patient.) There's no need to memorize those resources, but if you familiarize yourself with them, you'll be able to ask informed questions on the things that the factory didn't cover.

On the flip side, if you come into possession of something that we don't have, please consider donating a scan to help complete our collection. As we cover the bases on published info, more original articles are bound to follow.

Stay tuned as PackardInfo.com is poised to become the premiere resource for Packard enthusiasts everywhere - best of all its FREE!

Thanks Guys!

I was able to snap a few photo's today when I brought it home. I drove it about 40 miles this morning to get it home after purchasing it. A bit of a cold ride in Minnesota with holes in the floor pan and a seemingly non-functional heater, but I made it without incident.

I've got it on the registry, but I'm still working on some of the details regarding the history and whatnot. Not sure if it comes across in the photo, but the rockers are toast. Luckily the previous owner sent along a replacement set. I've also got some patch work to do on the floor pan and some small rust holes above the headlights.

I'm going to have to take my time with this project, and I've decided to sort out the car mechanically before attempting body and interior. The goal is to keep it running and road worthy as much of the time as possible.
