Thanks so much to the members of PackardInfo, I received a wealth of information. Now a friend would like some info on His 1935 Packard 1208, The car was first registered in Germany in 1935, it must have a rich history. Are there any members who have contacts in Germany that might help track down some history of this car?

That would be contrary to what I've observed on other export Packards. I've got hundreds of original importer's records for cars exported to Finland and they all had Packard Patent Plates. Ditto for scattered records I have of cars exported to Germany and other countries in Europe, though depending on country and year, some of these also have plates affixed by the importing agent or the licensing authority. I suspect your original patent plate was removed at some point in the past.

The "Fabrik No." is certainly the original VN, 835 being a 1935 Twelve 144 inch wheelbase mounting a 7 passenger limousine and 111 being the sequential production number. There is some debate about the first production number, some sources list it as 11, others as 201 which your car surely contradicts.

I'm going to get more info on this car and see if there is a Patent plate or holes where attached at some point and will look for other plates for import to Germany. I sure appreciate everyone's help,

Hi BigKev, yes living in beautiful downtown Hemet, I think car collectors capitol of Riverside county. I know there's alot your way, they have a Saturday Morning get together at the Target Parking lot early and it appears there are more collector cars then the parking lot can handle.

Which Target? First I am hearing about that. But then I dont have my finger on the pulse of the local events since my car is still garage bound.
