G'day Eric,
to PackardInfo. These "crash sheets" appear from time to time on eBay and, unless someone can come along with copies here, you could keep a lookout there. And if by chance you own a Packard I invite you to include it in the Packard Owner's Registry here, together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

Thanks.
Hoping people with 1930s vintage will have the shop manuals to make copies from - even if from the original ones posted here in the Literature/Manuals section to cover a few of the years. All I need are the "frame" chart pages, not the entire manual. Thanks! Eric

Here's a sampling of what's available in the shop manuals, these for the 37/38 cars and they're quite clear and legible. You should be able to find similar ones in the shop manuals for later years.

Wow, that was quick service! Thanks.
I am assuming that these represent not only the 1937-38 Packard but quickly looking at the 1939 shop manual, they look the same for that year too? Then maybe 1940 also? 1941-1948 are different. I saw the 1935 shop manual online but that is laid out differently and doesn't have the frames, a different kind of book? Are the 1932-1936 the same? I have the 1946-1958 models Motor's Crash Sheets available and if you like, can get them uploaded here? I don't see them in the archives but do see shop manuals that cover those years. Possibly someone can use them as quick references? Eric

I'd be very reluctant to assume that any prewar year or model is the same as another without a careful comparison, a probable exception being between the 38 and 39 Twelve. I'd really be surprised if any models 1940 and up were the same as any 39 and back, but you've just got to check it out, one by one. I have access to similar diagrams for the 1942 models and will borrow and scan when time permits.
Of course in 1941/1942, in addition to the different models 110, 120, 160 and 180 you also have a completely different chassis on the Clipper series.

I have a stack of literature sitting on my desk waiting to be scanned that may have the information you are looking for. Let me take a look when I get home this evening.

Mal,
What I was going by is the two versions of shop manuals uploaded here. One covers 1937-38 and the other 1938-39. Since there is a crossover year there and the charts appear the same, I was assuming at least 1937-1939 are all the same. I know with many pre-war cars, the 1941 year is the same as the 1946 year. Not being able to see the 1940 nor the earlier years, can't tell if these groupings are correct? But just making an educated guess Maybe BigKev's uploads will clear it up. Just looked at a service book for the 1940 which only has a lube chart and frame outline and can see it is completely different than the 1939 so that means 1940-1948 "may" be the same? Keep in mind even though there is a string of 8 years here, 3 of them had no cars made. Possibly the 1940-1942 are the same and 1946-48 different... but doubt it being manufacturers were not retooling directly out of war production. Looking forward to solving this and getting the charts...

Again, you can't address the 41-42 cars without separately considering the Clipper Series and the "conventional" series. Entirely different. The 41-42 Clippers have much in common with the postwar cars thru 1950, but the 1941-42 conventional bodied cars have no postwar counterparts.
