well, since i am pretty much done with the frame, sans the front sway bar, i put the body back on the frame so i could free up some space in my garage.

i am only working on the motor now and i don't need much space for that.

it is cool to see it on the frame again. almost looks like it could be a car again and it gave me new life with the project.

took 6 guys to lift her up and put her down on the frame again. it was still heavy, but we did it.

sitting up a lot higher then the last time. now the that the tires are the proper size and have air in them. and the back is jacked up from the torsion bars.

enjoy these rare photos. well its HAS been about 2 years since we saw it this way last and the frame was very dirty then.

Hank

Henry, another step in a long journey. What is the temperature in your garage? Mine hovers around 95. I have two fans running, one at each end so as to get some air circulation. It helps, but I still come out soaking wet. Congratulations!

Okay, call me dense here, but isn't that the radio speaker in the lower part of the pic. and could that be the underside of the dash sheet metal pulled up so you can see the lettering, and finally, does it say "mold clock bulbs?" The clock bulbs make sense, because you're dealing with the dashboard, ie gauges like the clock which are illuminated. But mold? Short for molding?

But wait! I also need to know if you ever found out why the pushrods have no oil passage?

And finally! I am really curious about that earlier pic of the oil pan and pistons: did you ever find the eighth piston, or was this a rare 7-cylinder model???? (That would be of much more value than an early casting date on the block.)

Just gotta know...

Maybe those were some things the inspector found missing or broken. Perhaps Hank's car was one of the unlucky early ones that got to spend time in the rework yard having all the items taken care of before it could be shipped.

yes that is the underside of the dash and yes that is the speaker to the radio. and i guess it could mean the molding that went around the speaker of the radio to form it up to the back side of the dash. it was there, but it had sagged down from the years. and i am really not sure if that says mold or not. i can't make out that word.

the 8th piston is the one that i have that is bad. i got a good one from Jack Vines, thanks buddy, and so i have 8 again.

and the push rods....i have no idea.....any experts on that wanna chime in?

and HH this car says Feb and March all over it, so your theory could be very correct.

it is a very early car, 2948....but i am sure there are early ones recorded out there. hmmmmm i wonder....maybe i am the earliest one. idk.
