$4000 is in the ballpark for a 1937 Packard 115 that needs work. It could be worth more than that, or less, depending on body style and condition. Going by your description it would be #4 condition which would be worth $5400 by my Old Cars Report Price Guide.

Nice description, Rusty, and I'm sure it will be very helpful to the poster. If you do find some published info on this process, please do post it.

Just one comment - I know vinyl has become sort of a generic description these days, but the roof covering isn't vinyl, it's a rubberoid composite.

You are right about the vinyl. I was comparing it to a vinyl top which most people are familiar with, hoping it would make it easier to understand.

Guys- thanks for all the info. Right now, the plan is to get the car now, and then when I move pack to the US next spring, pick it up and just get it driving reliably and safely.

Don't worry, if I get it, I'll register it!

Hello, on the roof of my 115C bus coupe, someone in the 1950s welded in a sheet metal roof over the existing vinyl, any advice on removing this , I want to be as stock as possible on the body. Also was this a practice of those wanting to water proof a car that had deteriorating vinyl? Thanks Richard
