Thanks for the pic's Kev, looks like Packard heaven! And good to hear Mat caught up with you, I remember him saying he was going to the Nethercutt. Met Gary and Doris when they were out here a couple of years ago, nice people.

Edit: Were any of the '33's and '34's a bit lighter after Mat had passed? Say by the weight of a water pump or generator?

Now I have to wipe the drool from my chin. Wonderful automobiles, and many thanks for posting them.

Old JB assembled the dream collection we all would if circumstances allowed. Best of all, he shares it with the public. The Grand Salon is as close to the Custom Salons experience the wealthy enjoyed during of the Classic Era as we're likely to have now.

A good friend of mine visited the Nethercutt Collection on an extended vacation this summer, kindly brought me their wonderful book on the collection to enjoy. He received the behind-the-scenes tour as he is a major figure in the theatre organ community. He emailed me a photo that makes me absolutely GREEN with envy. I might post it after checking with him for permission.

Kev, besides the beautiful setting the rare and wonderful cars are in they are all in running condition and are driven. I have heard that each year there is a picnic for museum employees and they each get to drive one of the cars to the picnic. The railway exhibit is suppose to be something most special to see. Fully restored and running? And, the organ exhibit is said to be outstanding. Thanks for sharing.

Yup ever car is in fully running order with charged batteries, full of fuel, oil and coolant. The keys are even in the ignition. They are all driven at least once a year.

The Theater Pipe Organ is the third largest in the world. They also also have an impressive collection of Orchestrions. Some with as many a 22 instruments.

It's a very cool place, and 100% free.
