Well I finally decided to join the forum.I bought my 54 Packard sportster 2 years ago and enjoyed it as a weekend driver .I was hesitant to restore it in any way for two reasons. The car was in such great original shape and second I restore classic and muscle cars for a living and didnt want to bury myself in a project I dont have alot of time for.The more I drove and enjoyed the car the more I thought it deserved more,so I decided to do a good cosmetic restoration and maybe a trans rebuild starting at the end of October.
I havent worked on many Packards so I hope I can get some knowledge and good advice from the forum. This is what the car looks like as of today.

Intersting. Never realized that the Sportster used the same trim level as the Clipper Deluxe (which I have). Same side trim, and gauge cluster as opposed to the Super Clipper gauge cluster.

Welcome to the website!

What are the first four digits on your Vehicle Number. It's on a stainless plate on the driverside A-pillar door jam.
