John, PackardInfo says thank you. Even two dimes for a Stalin is a great deal. And please do not hesitate to overtake the Australian rocket!
First violation of the right of way ($5) Mal, after reading his wikipedia data to me it seems natural to bet on William F. Harrah. Unfortunately wrong. Please try it again. It's your move. ____________________________________________________________ Two members dropped a total of $5.20 in the donation box.

Bad news are good news.
Mal, have you noticed the same thing as me? I forgot to take into account, that you misnamed the man. An old tourneur sometimes has to anticipate secret understandings. Please allow me to grasp the opportunity by the forelock and to bear the additional costs. second misnomer (two dimes) ____________________________________________________________ Three members dropped a total of $5.40 in the donation box.

The early bird gets the worm. John (JHH) got a Stalin for a total of two dimes, that's what I call a ridiculously low price. He was the first and the first has a large choice. But freedom of choice makes no sense if your choices are so tightly bound by the dikats of prevailing taste (see attached pictures).
Mal could really hit the jackpot. $10 to get the scoop on him and be a step ahead. [picture source: Time magazine] ____________________________________________________________ Three members dropped a total of $5.40 in the donation box.

Either I'm a slow learner or a glutton for punishment so I'll have another stab in the dark. And if that doesn't work a request for illumination.
Googled "who has the world's largest car collection" and the answer came back, amongst others, as Harold Le May. See this where the cars are lined up in rows. If by some faint chance I have again plumped for the wrong man, I request that some extra light be thrown on the subject by revealing D6 in the puzzle. AND - Before my bank account is completely emptied, surely there are others out there who would like to hazard a guess and at the same time contribute to PackardInfo? Can't wait until all is revealed.

Mal, first of all thank you for the video! I couldn't stop laughing.
Harold Le May, mhmmm, he lined his cars up in rows, mhmmm, Harold Le May, yes, that name really could be one of the universally accepted theories,... almost universally accepted. Almost. Sorry to say but Harold Le May is not the name we are looking for! third misnomer (four dimes) Quote: ...If by some faint chance I have again plumped for the wrong man, I request that some extra light be thrown on the subject by revealing D6 in the puzzle... The very first piece of puzzle D1 was on the house, compliments of the chef. Ok, D6 please for the silver-haired gentlemen with the winning smile. first piece of puzzle (one dime) Please find attached the new puzzle situation. D6 unhides an interesting detail. Everything else was colored green so far but now the color changed. That gives a deep insight. It is up to Mal to ... Just a moment! I can hardly believe my ears!! Ladies and Gentlemen! Mal has been supplanted by Mr. Leonid Brezhnev respectively by a hard fighting man from Dumont, New Jersey. Second violation of the right of way ($10) Amid the applause of the crowd for the moment we have to say good bye to Mal. John seems to hold all cards in his hands. ____________________________________________________________ Three members dropped a total of $15.90 in the donation box.

Thanks to John we have a new and (ferro)concrete proposal: Leonid Brezhnev. Probable little-known that this man loved cars, well, sometimes it looked different.
He received his cars as gift and therefore John's proposal meets the given dossier on a man who... Quote: ... wasn't a Packard collector, not even a car collector in the proper meaning of the word. The cars more probably have been an accumulated surplus... John, its going well for you. Unfortunately at this point in the story your winning streak ends. Leonid Brezhnev is an incorrect answer. 24 hours time to make another pick and try to start a new streak. No deductions for spelling. fourth misnomer (eight dimes) ____________________________________________________________ Three members dropped a total of $16.70 in the donation box.
