The very best thing I've found for giving protection plus the appearance of fresh cast iron is Eastwood's stainless steel high temp manifold paint. Initially it looks a little bright but once heated by running the engine, it give a very acceptable "fresh cast iron" appearance.

You know, I get Eastwoods mailer every month or so because I bought the buffing wheel and polishes for my bright work (since so much of it is ss steel) but i did not even think about their mainfold paint. I will try it next time.

Hello everyone! I have been gone for quite some time. I thought I would bring you up to speed. This summer I and my family moved back to Chattanooga, TN. I had to pack up the Packard once again, (this being the 4th move during the restoration) and relocate it. Now that we own a house, (we where renting in Arizona) I feel much more settled and should be able to make much more progress on the Packard. I hope to post more once we are all unpacked and back at it. Talk to you soon!
Gregg

Ok, this took a little longer than i thought. We did move back to Chattanooga, TN. Just had the 2nd surgery on my knee and i should be back to work on the Packard. Look for more photos and updates. I will be working on the frame and running gear this summer. I look forward to all the assistance this forum brings.
