Welcome!
Don't know if you know it but the 51 200 Business Coupe is pretty rare. A one year only model. It came with a wooden platform covered with a rubber mat rather than a back seat and the door panels lined with an extra tough vinyl covered fiber board due to its utilitarian nature. Probably a good number of business coupes had the rear platform replaced with a rear seat by later owners. Any way you choose to restore it, rear seat or not, it is a pretty rare car.

Wasn't the business couple dropped mid-year and replaced with the hardtop? Thought I read that somewhere. (probably on this site!)

Welcome Doc. Lots of good info here, enjoy the site, and your '51.

You know I really don't know if she is a business coupe. Saw coupe so clicked it. Her rear seat was made from wood frame which I thought was weird. Any way to fine out with the car number?

You've selected 2498 as the Model Number in your Owner Registry entry. Does this agree with the number stamped on the VIN plate or the Briggs body plate on your Packard? If yes, then it's a Business Coupe. If not, then it's a 24XX whatever that is. If there are no plates then it's a problem, unless the documentation that came with the car can provide some insight.

Reference to the Packard Model Info pages may help. Here's a link to the 1951 page. If not a 2498, could be a 2495 200 Club Sedan or 2465 200 Deluxe Club Sedan.

Body number is on the plate. Format would be 24XX-XXXXX. First four designate the body type and second set of numbers is the production sequence number for that particular body style. I don't remember if they started at 1001 or 2001 that year but subtracting the starting number from yours will give an idea when in the year it was built.

VIN plate is on the firewall. speaking of which, there should also be a large embossed "Thief Proof Number" with a 'triangle' on either side - could you also provide this for O_D's research purposes? The Briggs body plate/tag should be on the inside of the front door pillar.
