Interesting and ungainly extension above the windshield of the phaeton in post 49. Yet more headroom needed??

That phaeton appears to have a hole in the top to allow the royalty to stand up and be seen by the hoi-polloi. I don't believe I have ever seen that feature on any other soft top?
And I don't recognize the royalty either? Perhaps the extension on the top was more like a sunvisor???

Am I wrong or is there an electric or bowden cable to control the extension / sunvisor?
But a hole in the top? Randy, find the best deals for new monitors at ebay!

Two ladies sitting at rear of first car is E roosevelt on the left side of car and either B truman rite side of car or MAYBE Trumans daughter. I don;t recognize the man directly in front of E Rosselvelt. Appears to be Navy????? I'm not familiar enuf with US Navy of that era to recognoze him. Maybe those of u that served during that time can take a good guess.

Almost, but no cigar. The woman is the wife of England's King George VI, and the picture was taken during the month of June in 1939. I doubt anyone serving in the US military at that time does much commenting on this forum since they would be over 90.

There are some letters to the editor, offering interesting information about this car, in the latest issue of the CCCA's Bulletin. It survived WW-II and is thought to be somewhere in Connecticut. The Dutch government is laying claim to it.
