Hi,
I don't know if you can just buy the glass. I had mine cut at a glass place. There should be no green edge. Use Pyrex. They made a pattern from a broken one. It's a little tricky getting the 9 striations perfect. I think they made 3 before they did it right. I gave the "mistakes" away already. Here are a couple pics, probably not helpful if you have a broken 1. You might check with David Flack (flackmaster) or David Moe (Packard Seattle Co.) for a "used one."

Good afternoon Joe...It is not often that I see a Pica Pole used for measurements on the Packard Information Web Site. You must have spent time at a newspaper or print shop, or perhaps an Advertising Agency. I spent 30 years at Times Mirror, most of it at the Los Angeles Times. For a while I had the composing room reporting to me. How about you. Ernie

You guessed it, Ernie. Ad agency and still going, but all digital now. Tossing out this old friend, I couldn't do, so it found a home in the garage.

Why don't you try Don or Dan Sommer at American Arrow?
americanarrowcorp.com/contact-us/ They reproduce that hood ornament and have a source for the glass. They might have a spare glass piece they would sell you. Or tell you the glass shop they use - I was in that that glass shop about 10 years ago and IIRC it is in Fenton, MI. Hope that works out for you.

Be sure to request Starphire glass. It is low iron content, and is clear, but more expensive. Mainly used for shower enclosures. All reputable glass shops have it.
I still use my pica rule too! Attach file: ![]() ![]()

I believe these glass wings are a current repro project and have been available for some time from Paul Terhorst.
