And with the optional Thunderbird engine, no less. Only known Thunderbird straight eight.

Seriously, looks like a nice car needing a good home.

I too like the Thunder bird engine. Want one for my 51. On another note: Is it only me that thinks the last good looking front grill was on the 51 senior cars? Think the 53 grill looks bulky. Not nearly as pretty as the 51 senior. Maybe it's the teeth I like.

Added: I do think the 30s front ends were the best looking. Next on my list would be the 41-47, then the 50.

I chuckled when I read that in the Ebay post, O_D ...

There is also a 1939 Packard "120" with a 6-cylinder engine listed. Looks like a 110 to me.

technically, I think it's neither - didn't Packard call the model simply "Six" that year?

The "Six" designation was in 1938 only. There was the Six, the Eight (read: 120), the Super Eight, and the Twelve. After that the junior models went back to the 120 and 110 designations. Easy to get confused on these identifiers, especially if one is not into Packards, like the seller or lister. Maybe it has a Thunderbird 6-cylinder?

It still has the original tires?? I wouldn't stand too close to any of them unless you were taking pictures of the nicely cobweb patterned sidewalls.

Actually it has "teeth" or grooves or whatever you call them on the center grille piece when it is not supposed to. Cavaliers and Patricians had those but Clippers did not. Otherwise looks very nice. I like the center grille piece on the 53's and 54's better than on the 51's and 52's as it seems a direct repetition of the upper grille but to each his own. What I don't like is the 53 "defense chrome".
