Thank you, Kevin! This is the kind of work I actually like to do, especially when there is some sign of progress.

Odd, though, that none of the Henney 1-1/4" rear wheel cylinders I found are rebuilt (I found three) so it makes me wonder if back on entry #3 of this blog where I said I had rebuilt them, that I wrote it some time after the fact and only thought I had rebuilt them when I hadn't! Otherwise I cannot account for having three un-rebuilt cylinders! I may have others packed away somewhere too but these were out with the other brake parts from relatively recent work and there should be three: two from the rear end and one from the extra back plate that I just installed.

The shop is all closed up now until the next time so I took this parting shot for myself. When seeing it later, it reminded me that while the wheels are off I need to add lock washers to the u-bolt nuts and properly torque them! I had completely forgotten about that.

I can't find it in the parts book but is the steel vacuum advance line different between the Autolite and Delco distributors?

Thank you, Kev, I knew someone would say that but I looking to have an original waiting for when I next arrive. I can probably fix the one it had by cutting off a bit and re-flaring it on one end but I am not sure if my flare tool goes that small and I don't want to buy another just for this one thing.

HF sells a cheap flaring kit that will work.

The tube is in the parts book and there were differences which probably had more to do with the port location on the carb and manifold used with the various engine and model than the distributor brand.

Thank you, Howard! I searched and searched and couldn't find it but using the group number in the image that you posted brought up the entry I wanted. As mine is a 2413, it would be included in this:

Quote:
426694 ALL 24TH; 25TH; 2601-11-13-33; 5400-01-11-33 USE WITH 2 BARREL CARBURETOR

Apparently the only difference is whether 2-brl or 4-brl carburetor which makes sense as the carburetor connection is in a totally different place between them. The one in my car has an odd coiling to it at the distributor end which I had never seen before so not sure if it was original or not.

Sorry for the wrong year Don but glad you found it. For some reason I still had V8s on what's left of my feeble mind.
