Couple of new Packards spotted on FB Marketplace this morning:

1941 160 Super Eight Coupe. Solid unrestored, ad states in storage for over 30 years. Has dual side mounts. Oklahoma City, OK:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1027478348324906/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Ada91bbd9-9985-4099-baf0-eae0fd9b674f

1956 Patrician. Older deteriorated restoration. Bumpers need chrome, but rest of car looks pretty good for the $4,500 asking price:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/377199178163132/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Ada91bbd9-9985-4099-baf0-eae0fd9b674f

1939 1705 Super Eight Limo. Motor and trans missing, but car looks unbelievably solid with very nice original interior. Seller states he was going to street rod this car but has decided to sell. New Jersey.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1611661482937209/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A1c6061d0-b7c9-4484-932c-a3e4ee76f36b

1939 Super Eight Sedan, Model 1703. Disassembled abandoned restoration project. Looks like it is all there, including drivetrain. You could use this to restore the '39 1705 above. Idaho:

That limo looks nice. A great car to fairly quickly get back on the road.

It sure does look great. What a shame that the engine and trans is gone.

Couple more new ones to post:

1940 180 LWB sedan. Needs restoration but looks solid and complete. Oregon:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/201702816288040/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks

1956 Executive Hardtop. Looks like a nice car. Attractive two-tone blue color scheme:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/883691873370248/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A442f4950-ff9a-4324-8a49-c27384fc1be2

1955 Clipper Deluxe sedan. Rough and rusty, will probably make a better parts car than a restoration project. Does look complete. Virginia:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/380606651150822/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Aaa94eed3-2f43-4d4e-9165-5e2608a1e7e8

On that '56 Executive, are the antennas really that long when they are extended? Those things look like whips!

Some of these ads, man...

"Low mile clean title 1955 Packard Clipper Deluxe." 87k miles is "low"??

"Full complete V8 drive train automatic hydro trans still intact." No pictures of this but 16 of the rest of the car.

"Original Rochester carb." These used a Carter carb.

"Car has tons of chrome in great shape." Majority is peeling or pitted (as we all know is common) but no one would say it's in great shape. Front bumper is OK.

"Does have rust so this is a project for sure." For context the entire driver door sill area is... gone.

I get why people write up their cars like this but it does give me a bit of a laugh sometimes. Sometimes it's better to just be brief and let people have some curiosity than to hype something up for what it isn't, you know? For example, on mine (which was of similar if not worse condition) the ad just said "V8, does not run". Can't get much more accurate than that. 😄

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

I tried to write to him about the 1955 Clipper Deluxe and all I got in return was name-calling and sarcastic responses that I can't even repeat here.

When I post a link to an ad, I usually ignore what the seller is saying and try to give an honest description based on what I am seeing in the photos. In this case, I think my take is more accurate. The rust on this '55 Clipper looks pretty bad and the interior is totally trashed. It's probably just a parts car at this point and should be priced accordingly.

Does look pretty good, at least from what can be seen from the lousy pictures.
