When we drove it before without the speedo hooked up, no noise.

A couple of quick tasks this evening.

I pulled the speedo and spun it with a drill. No clicking. So not a odometer gear issue. Also pulled the inner speedo cable out. It was well greased and came out and back in without any issue. No kinks.

There is some to side play on the input shaft on the speedo. After a consult with Pat Mescher we went through a few scenarios. One the cable being too long and pressing on the speedo inards. Also the speedo needing to be lubed. The little brass plug over the oil hole was smashed in pretty deep. So I had to carefully drill that little plug out.

Pat advised me to use the heaviest oil I had since I had so much side to side play. After wicking in some gear 90w oil and spin in it for awhile by hand the side to side play is almost not existent. Who knows that last time in was lubed.

So next time it's driven will see if the problem is fixed.

Also I swapped in that GM map light slider switch to replace the incorrect toggle that was there. I have it wired to control backup lights or the map light.

That reduced one switch under the dash.

I painted the handle on the switch with some silver paint to make it less noticeable, as it comes as black plastic from GM. The new switch is on thr right in this photo.

Looking great Kev. Awesome to see the car out on the road, even for a short drive. It's nice to see the progress.

Also good to know about the speedo. Mine bounces some at low speeds, though no noise. I'm assuming it's the cable, but perhaps the speedo itself needs lube? Was it just the prewar cars that had a place to oil the speedo?

Thanks to Flackmaster for being the Master of Ceremonies.

The big part of this was parts from all over for the 115.

Fenders from Utica, New York. NOS running board trim and a NOS left running board from Gary in Philly area.

Thank to the Flackmaster for transporting all these pieces to Nashville.

And going back to the source.. where the Jagard was conceived, convertible top assemble with front castings and metal top bow were found hiding away.

Mark must have acquired all of this for car and put it away. The car came from Calif without a top, but it looks like Mark had a plan to put one on.

Also a much better front grille was found hiding behind a desk.

I also found boxes of other parts for the 115c.

Found more piles of Steele Rubber. So look for the rubber inventory list to expand in a few days.

Also, after ordering the correct wipers arms and blades a few days ago, I found piles of wiper arms, blades and trico service parts there. Go figure!

So in addition to becoming thr rubber king of the Midwest, looks like I'm now also the Wiper Part Prince as well.

David reminds me that I could have fit more in the Teluride as I could still see out the back! It was a very good trio and lots of parts were rescued by all parties involved. Now to sort through these Jag and Austin Healy parts to figure out what everything is.

That looks like a huge parts haul. Those fenders should clean up nicely!

The fenders have the usual tear over at the top of the arch. So they will need some repair.

One of them has a softball sized dent I that same area. So not prefect, but for sure manageable.
