Alcan Highway Packard

Im new here so forgive me if I sound out of place :) I just purchased the Packard in the article you mentioned. It belonged to my friends father for the last 55 years. It is a beautiful car. I have spent the last 20 years restoring 68 Camaros & chargers so this is a very different type of vehicle to me but I have always wanted one. Like I said I know almost nothing about the history or production of Packards so any info is welcomed. Not even sure how many of this model are still around. The history & documentation on this car are awesome though. Any comments or info appreciated. Thanks

Maybe try crossing the Bering Streights with it into Russia some day???

now that's an idea. It came up in the spring of 1946 and I thought in 14 years when she is 100 I could make the trip back down the Alcan. We'll see!

I'm not a computer giant here, but how do you enlarge the images? I'd like to have a good look at this car. I have clicked on other car images and they open up...

If you are referring to the photos in post 2 those are very small file sizes or basically thumbnails so will not open any larger. The file size would need to be considerably larger -- 75-100K at least to be be viewed at a decent size.

Deskdriver if you send me your email I can send you photos that way. I'm no computer genius either but I think that will work if you want better photos. Is there some kind of PM feature? Thanks for the interest.
