I would assume the '42 would have a 356 straight 8 in it?? Or was AC available in cars with the 282 or 245?

According to parts manual AC was available on all prewar Clipper models except the taxi.

A/C was offered on all models, including the 110 (six). Whether any sixes were equipped, I don't know, but their ads stated it was available in the six.

1955 Clipper Sedan - $8500 (Lancaster, OH)

Interestingly, a nearly identical 1956 Clipper just sold at auction on July 29, 2017 in Eaton, Ohio for $4000. I wish this guy luck, but I doubt he's going get anywhere near his asking price.

Sorry, I am still curious about that 42 Clipper with a/c. I think I count 8 cyl (spark plug general location). I don't see a Super emblem.

Clearly, it's not an "Elite". Can anyone tell from the upholstery pattern if this is at least a Super?

West points out these were available in all Clippers in 1942. That's surprising since I would think the 6 cylinders were not powerful enough to support the a/c in 1942.

It is an 8, Bryan, apparently the fellow that owns it doesn't know himself, he said it was a 6. But upon closer examination of the picture it is an 8 (282).

The 55 Clipper in post 2854 has overdrive. That would be a hoot to drive.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

Emails to the 42 Clipper A/C car seller have received bad responses. He confirmed it was a "V6 Elite" and when I corrected him politely, he told me to... well you know.

That's too bad. Project cars have a hard enough time getting restored. Yes, it would be fun to have an early A/C car but the bottom line is, visually - you are just getting a 42 Packard Clipper.

Which is fine, I really like 42 Packard 120 inch wheelbase cars. (Or bigger).
