Found this plate in a collection. Looks like it might be 1908 or so. Also found a contemporary photo of the owner and the car. I understand the motor may have had a French connection? Anyone know? Where would this plate be mounted originally?

Thanks for any info.

Probably the front face of the front seat, or possibly the dashboard. More likely the seat, tho.

In regard to the photo, tho, that isn't a Packard. I'm pretty sure it's a ca. 1911 McLaughlin Buick with "updated" rear fenders.

UPDATE: It's a 1907 Pierce Great Arrow

It turns out the car in the OP's link is a 1907 Pierce Great Arrow.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.
