If it has rounded corners, maybe the 1940 corner would fit. I haven't checked the Steele catalog for a while but it seems to me that they also had a section of more generic parts so maybe one there too. Maybe one of these . . .

Just to circle back to the brake springs for an important point: The primary shoe spring is to be weaker than the secondary so that the lead shoe comes out and contacts the drum. That energizes the secondary shoe. Under normal forward braking, the secondary shoe never leaves contact with the anchor pin. If the springs are reversed the rear shoe will come out first and then, depending on adjustment, slam back into the anchor pin giving jerky brake action. That is why some older models had an extra secondary shoe spring.

If you look closely or take a caliper and measure, the wire of the primary springs is several thousandths smaller than the secondary's.

Also digging through the left overs in the Steele Rubber box, I found some unmarked hood corners that I made fit on the rear corners by turning them around so they not as obvious. They will hopefully keep me from scratching up the fenders.

Currently working on stripping, priming and painting the headlight buckets and risers.

Can someone confirm the fasteners that connect the headlights to their riser/bases?

Currently I just have a 1/2-20 hex nut and matching split lockwasher which connect to the carriage bolt that comes down out of the headlight can. Is there supposed to be a concave washer/spacer or anaything like that?

My 1939 and several 1940s has a large cupped washer between the headlight pod and the mount on the fender that acted as a ball on which to adjust it but I can’t speak for 1937.

The top of the headlight riser already has a dome shape to it already. This is why I have the question. The ones on the car only had a lock washer and nut. I have a set of 115 headlights in the basement that came with those stock fenders, and those as well are only lock washer and nut as well.

Here what the risers look like:

I had wondered about that as the later models don’t use the riser because the headlights were working their way lower each year before becoming integrated into the fender in 1941.

My 37 only has nuts and washers too, adjustment is the stanchion ball pivot. It was changed to sealed beam and I changed it back so I may be missing something but it all assembled fine and the adjustment was smooth.
