I assume that the 38 Super 8 is the same as the 37, in which case there is no plug in the end of the shaft. Just a slight restriction. Can't seem to be able to upload some photos for. Will get Mal to do it when he gets back next week.

The 37 and 38 are different in many ways. However, in this respect they are the same.
If you don't get your specific answer, I will try to check my 38 for you in a day or so. My engine is in storage.
