Saturday, April 10th Packard's of Arizona, a region of Packard's International is having a get together at the Scottsdale Pavilions located at Pima Rd. and Indian Bend Rd. just west of the loop 101. The venue is the world's largest weekly cruise in.

The cars begin to arrive around 4:00 pm and by 6:00 there should be a respectable gathering of Packard's. Please join us for an enjoyable evening of cars, car talk and Packard fun!

Jim,

Sounds looks it'll be a good time. If you can, please post some pic's of the Packards in attendance.

Wish I could be there. Great place for a show and the weather will undoubtedly be beautiful. Yes, as Ozstatman said take pictures and throw in one of a saguaro as well

Mal & Alburton,

I am a terrible picture taker but will make an effort to report back with pictures. Even a saguaro on the drive over.

Alburton, I remember you saying you previously lived here and have family that live here. Perhaps if you visit you can join in on a Packard event of some sort. Seems like there is always something going on.

Saguaro? What's a Saguaro? Didn't have a clue then Jim's reference: Quote:
......a saguaro on the drive over.....
gave me an inkling. And isn't Google a wonderful tool?

Gosh Mal, that peak looks very familiar! It simply amazes me how the Internet has changed our ability to access the world. A fellow half way around the world can find and publish a picture of a place another person lives in about two minutes. Nice picture.

Absolutely, I have my parents and most of my Mom's side of the family there. Actually only about 15 minutes away from where you're going. I would love to attend a show there, I'm sure they have them most of the year as it doesn't snow or get unbelievably cold.

I like the pic of the saguaro. How about a prickly pear now? That's my favorite one.

We headed out for the 30 mile trip at about 4:00 pm with 80 degree temperature. The trip was challenging only because trying to navigate the car at 65 mph and get a picture of a road side saguaro (as requested by alburton) is tricky.
No cactus or Packard club members were hurt in this production

The cars arrived every few minutes. All made it with no trouble from all parts of our sprawling desert community. As fast as cars filled their places of honor, the spectators flooded over to see what may have been their first ever Packard in real life, or a Packard once again after many years. Forum member Duane G. set up the club table with club publications free to those interested in learning more about Packards and our chapter of PI. It was very encouraging to see how many people were interested in the cars. A number of young people showed what one might consider to be above average reverence for the opportunity to interact with the club members and learn more about all things Packard.

Everyone had a great time talking Packards and dreaming about which would be their next. There was also discussion about the great momentum Packard Info. is gaining. A fun time for all who came. In all, there were 15 cars that made the outing. I was able to photograph most, but not all. I apologize to those I missed.

Enjoy!
Jim
